Smear Clinic -  **The times of our drop in smear clinics are changing**

There will no longer be a clinic on a Friday morning this will be changing to a Thursday afternoon.

New times are as follows;

Tuesdays 11:30 - 12:20

Thursday 15:30 - 16:20

Privacy notice -If you have an email address, you will have had lots of messages from companies telling you about their privacy policy. As you probably know it's all to do with the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) coming into force 25th May 2018.

We hold data about our patients and staff too, and we have a privacy policy too!

There is a copy of our privacy notice on our website under 'Practice Policies', and we have posters displayed in our waiting areas.


If you wish to opt out of your health record being shared with other health professionals see post on the Welsh Health Record ( ), or to opt out of receiving text message appointment reminders and health messages, please let us know

Nurse-Led Clinics

The nurses provide general health screening and advice in their various clinics. 

  • Asthmaasthma_inhaler_5

All patients diagnosed with Asthma or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) will be invited to see the nurse at least annually to assess and review treatment.

  • Diabetes

Dr Thomas is our Diabetic Lead. He works with nurse Sister Louise Williams to  look after patients with diabetes and coordinates their care.  If you have a diabetes, you will receive invites for regular reviews, ensuring you have received an up-to-date blood test first. 

  • Contraception

Our nurses are able to discuss all methods of contraception with you, and advise you about the methods we offer.  They can also help you with pill-checks and give repeat contraceptive injections once you are established on your choice of contraceptive.

Please book an appointment to see a GP if you are keen to start a new contraceptive. 

  • HRT

The nurses will be pleased to see you for your regular HRT-check once you are established on your medication.  Please initially see the GP to discuss menopause-management and to discuss treatment options if you are having difficult menopausal symptoms.

  • Smear Clinics

**CHANGES TO SMEAR CLINICS - times of our drop in smear clinics are changing**

Women are invited to attend for screening by the Cervical Screening Wales Service.  On receipt of the invite letter please arrange your smear test at the surgery. You can either book a routine nurse appointment, or attend one of our twice-weekly smear drop in clinics which run on Tuesdays 11:30am- 12:20pm and Thursday 15:30 - 16:20.  If you arrive before 12:20pm on Tuesdays, or 16:20 on Thursday you will be seen although there may be a wait.

There is lots of free support available to you if you are considering quitting.

A particularly excellent and free resource is Stop Smoking Wales.

  • Weight Management healthy_apple

Our nursing team are experts at giving healthy advice. They can also monitor your weight regularly should you need some support with dieting.
